Being a student of Hanbali Fiqh I felt I'm in need of Ilm Al-Hadith can't just suffice with the craft work of the tradition Fuqahaa. I'm also in need of the craft work of the traditional Muhaditheen because the most fruitful application of Fiqh lies in combining the art of interpretation of the text which we get from the Fuqahaa (Ilm Al-Fiqh) and basing our Fiqh on authentic sources which we get from the Muhaditheen (Ilm-Hadith).
I was trying to search for a book that would give a brief introduce to the science of Hadith so I bumped into a book by Shaykh Taariq Awadullah called:
Introduction to Ilm-Hadith which no beginner student can do without it
After reading it I was bewilded and highly astonished how the Shaykh presented the concepts of the science of Hadith terminology. His style of writing this book makes you appreciate the perfect precision of the our Hadith scholars that how certain termnology carries multiply connotations.
Inshallah we will talk about this book more in a seperate post.
Due to the numerious gems found in his material I have decided to dedicate a blog of sharing the various gems of Shaykh Taariq Awadullah such gems that are rare to obtain due to the unique approach of the Shaykh Hafidhahullah Ta'aalaa.
